Religion - Introduce chapter 2, "God Speaks to Us in Scripture".We will read and discuss pages 11 to 13. We will define the term "scripture" The class will have homework on the bottom of page 13.
Math - I will review the quiz on the first 4 lessons then I will introduce lesson 5, "Use Place Value to Round" on pages 39 to 42. The class will complete pages 43 and 44 for homework.
Reading - I will review the Reading quiz from Friday, specifically focusing on the written response and how the students need to address R.A.D.D. when answering a short and long response question. Then I will introduce our next story, "The Advetures of Ali Baba Bernstein". We will preview the story on pages 42 to 59. I will then introduce the class to the vocabulary terms from pages 40 and 41. Finally, we will Meet the Author on page 58. The class will complete page 11 for homework.
Vocabulary - I will teach a mini-lesson on Idioms from page 15. Explain to the students that Idioms are an expression that has a special meaning. WE will also review our vocabulary terms for tomorrow's Unit 1 quiz.
Social Studies - We will read and I will discuss pages 18 and 19. We will discuss New York's National Wonders such as Niagara Falls and the Finger Lakes.
Science - We will read and I will discuss pages 10 and 11. The students will learn that living things are different but share similar structures.

Reading - i will check and review worksheet page 12 on character, setting, and plot. The students will then conduct a guided reading of our story on the same topic, pages 42 to 57. Homework page 14.
Vocabulary - We will review our quiz from yesterday, then I will introduce the words from Unit 2 on pages 16 to 19. For homework the students will write a creative paragraph using at least 6 of the new words.
Science - I will introduce lesson 3, How Are Plants Classified, read and discuss pages 14 and 15.
Social Studies - I will review the worksheet homework on where to travel in New York State.

Religion - The students will read and I will discuss "My Way to Faith" which has the students consider their failth journey. Read and discuss pages 17 and 18. They will have a worksheet to complete for homework on this lesson.
Math - We will review pages 52 and 53 on Place Value. Then I will introduce chapter 2, 'Add and Subtract Whole Numbers" on page 55. The students will then complete the Am I Ready exercise. We will also review the Vocabulary on page 59. Finally, I will teach pages 63 to 66, "Addition Properties and Subtraction Rules". Homeworkwill be pages 67 and 68.
Reading - We will read the related passage "One Thousand Nights and a Night", pages 60 to 63 focusing on the expository text. Homework will be a RPB worksheet.
