Math - I will teach pages 13 to 16 on Place Value. The class will have a homework assignmnet on pages 17 and 18.
Religion - The class will read and discuss pages 3 and 4 which discusses how God reveals himself in Creation.
Reading - We will preview our first story of the year, "My Diary from Here to There", pages 10 to 30. We will also Meet the Author on page 30. Finally, we will define and discuss the vocabulary terms from our upcoming story. There will be a homework worksheet on page two.
Music - The class will have Music from 12:15 to 12:50
Science - I will introduce chapter 1, "Classifying Plants and Animals" pages 1 and 2.
Social Studies - The class will be introduced to unit 1, "The Land of New York" pages 1 to 3. We will also "Meet the People" on pages 4 and 5. Finally, we will complete a brief 'Main Idea" exercise on pages 6 and 7.
Handwriting - The students will write a poem from page 6 onto page 7. This writing will be repeated in June to see how far they have progressed during the year.
Religion - Read and discuss pages 5 and 6. The children will explain how creation tells about God. I will also read from the Bible, Genesis chapter 1 verse's 1 to 26 about the Story of Creation.
Math - I will review the homework on Place Value, pages 17 and 18. I will then teach pages 19 to 22 which is to "read and write multi-digit numbers" The class will complete pages 23 and 24 for homewrok.
Reading - I will review the worksheet homework on our Vocabulary terms, page 2. Then I will read aloud the story. "My Diary From Here to There". The students will complete worksheet page 3 for homework.
Vocabulary - I will review the worksheet homework from page 10. "Match the Meaning". Then I will teach and the class will complete page 11, and exercise on Synonyms and Antonyms. The class will completeworksheet page 12 for homework.
Science - We will define the lesson 1 vocabulary terns from pages 2 and 3. We will then read and discuss pages 6 and 7, "What are the Buling Blocks of Life?" The students will learn that living things are componds of cells.
Social Studies - The class will define the vocabulary terms for Unit 1 from page 10. Then we will read and discuss pages 10 and 11 which explains how glaciers affected the land of New York.
Handwriting - review page 8 and teach pages 10 and 11 about proper seating position for writing. Homewrok on pages 12 and 13.
Computer - 10:00 to 10:45
Religion - We will review the homewrok from page 8, a Faith Puzzle. Thenwe will read and dispages 9 and 10 with a focus on the life of Saint Joan of Arc.
Math - We will review the workbook homework on Comparing Numbers on page 29 and 30. Then I will teach pages 31 to 35, Ordering Numbers. The class will have pages 35 and 35 for homework.
Reading - We will review our homework on page 5 on "Flunecy". Then we will review for tomorrow exam. Finally, we will read about the life of Ceasar Chavez on pafges 32 to 35. Homework from RPB page 7.
Vocabulary - I will conduct a mini-lesson on Homophones as we complete page 14 together,
Social Studies - I will teach a mini lesson on how to use an Elevation Map as I teach pages 16 and 17. Homework is a worksheet for Chapter 1.
Science - We will review our worksheet homework from lesson 1. I will then preview lesson 2, How Are Living Things Grouped, page 10.
Gym - 10:00 to 10:45
Religion - We will review chapter one with a worksheet review which focusus on our faith.
Math - The class will reveal their answers from lesson 4, Ordering Numberrs. Then they will complete pages 35 and 36 as a review of the first 4 lessons.
Voabulary - The class will create a one paragraph essay using at least 6 of the vterms
Reading - We will review our worksheet homework on a Time Line. Then the class will complete a quiz on our story, My Diary From Here to There.
Science - The students will learn how living things are grouped as we read and discuss pages 10 and 11.
Social Studies - We will review ourworksheet homework on chapter 1. Then we will preview chapter 2, "Enjoying New York' Define the vocabulary terms and preview the lesson.
